A rare opportunity to purchase a fully restored Series 3 Short Wheelbase Pickup. Historic Vehicle.
This has been restored with a slightly modernised touch, but after a full strip to its chassis nothing has been overlooked. A full chassis repair, and then fully rebuilt, step by step, using all new suspension leaf springs and shocks, all new brake drums, shoes, copper & flexi pipes, & master cylinder. New wheels and chunky off-road tyres to complete the rolling chassis.
Original 2.25 diesel engine, boasting new fuel lift pump, new diesel injector pump, new injectors and all new injector pipelines. New glow plugs and wiring. Cylinder head overhaul, with new gaskets and tappet setup. As with most old landy’s she smokes a bit when ticking over and when starting from cold. Not too bad though under normal driving conditions. Starts good on new glow plugs.
New fuel tank.
New radiator, and fully charged with anti freeze ready for any winter conditions.
New clutch and release bearing.
Original 4 speed + reverse gearbox, retaining its normal ‘loose’ gates to give you the original ‘feel’.
New door tops and sliding windows, new body panels where required, including new floor & support ribs for the rear ‘tub’.
Front axle overhaul, including new swivel joint seals and overhaul of the freewheeling 4×4 hubs. New wheel bearings all round.
New uprated steering tie bar & control arm, from Gwyn Lewis 4×4.
Cosmetically, a full refit inside the cab, with new seats, mats and a whole new console incorporating gauges and sensors as well as a double ‘din’ sized stereo head unit which is also a rear view camera for reversing.
New wooden and alloy spoked steering wheel gives it a classic look to a modern interior. All new headlining throughout the cab, incorporating a pair of 6”x9” Alpine speakers & handy storage shelf.
All new window rubbers.
All new matting in rear tub.
Drop tailgate with retaining chains.
Full width LED light bar (roof mounted, front), with multiple LED work lights front and rear.
All new LED ‘traditional look’ stop/tail/side lights, reversing light and indicators, with modern style LED headlights.
This vehicle is ready to go, MOT worthy, but not required. No tax required either, so insure it and you’re off!
In a unique and striking burnt orange colour.
