A much-loved and well-maintained TD5 in the sought-after Monaco Blue, with a number of useful upgrades and plenty of character. We have owned the vehicle for six years and have serviced it every year throughout our ownership.
The engine runs well and there are no known mechanical faults. It has an MOT until February.
It had a replacement rear half chassis and assorted rust repairs in 2022, giving peace of mind in one of the areas that matters most on these vehicles. At the same time, it was fitted with a 2″ suspension lift, a snorkel and running boards, giving it a great stance and making it particularly well suited to anyone looking for a capable and distinctive vehicle.
It also comes with a full-length aluminium roof rack, providing plenty of additional carrying capacity.
Things to be aware of:
As with any vehicle of this age, there are some areas that need attention, and we would rather be completely upfront about them:
- There are some areas of rust on the roof (shown in the photographs).
- There is rust to varying degrees along the door tops (also shown in the photographs).
- The rear door hinges need replacing.
- The air conditioning isn’t currently working. We suspect this is due to a leak in one of the hoses.
- The headlining could do with some attention.
These points are reflected in the price and are all visible/known issues, so there are no nasty surprises.
Overall, this is a great-looking, distinctive TD5 with some worthwhile upgrades already carried out. It would make an excellent project for someone who wants a capable vehicle with plenty of character.
